Limits

The planet and civilisation are pretty screwed if we don’t reduce carbon output by 50% by 2030. If we don’t, keeping within a 1.5 degrees rise in temp is impossible. Experts predict that 2019 or 2020 will be the last year that carbon emissions can keep increasing; so it’s a pivotal year. It means we in the West need to cut our carbon by 60-80% so people in the East & South can create a bit more carbon as they become more prosperous. We need to get a tipping point of people (Early Adopters & the Early Majority) to act and to support government policy-makers to act, so our carbon output starts to decline in the 2020s, and continues to decline each year throughout the 2020s, so we can limit climate change to no more than +1.5 degrees by 2030.
